On Wednesday, U.S. Ryder Cup captain Keegan Bradley<\/a> continued to round out his leadership squad by appointing a third vice captain. Kevin Kisner<\/a> will join previously appointed vice captains Webb Simpson and Brandt Snedeker to help shepherd the U.S. Ryder Cup team at Bethpage Black in September.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cKevin is a great addition to our leadership group and will be a trusted voice throughout the coming months and this year\u2019s Ryder Cup,\u201d Bradley said in a press release. \u201cHis extensive match-play success and strong relationships make him a perfect fit. I look forward to working with him closely as we get ready for Bethpage Black.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n

Kisner has notably never competed in a Ryder Cup, but compiled a 2-2-3 career record in the Presidents Cup. Kisner played on the U.S. team in 2017 and 2022. He also has an impressive match-play record as an individual, winning the 2019 WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play in 2019 and finishing runner-up in 2018 and 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kisner served as a captain’s assistant to Jim Furyk<\/a> at the Presidents Cup in Montreal last year, which the U.S. won 18.5-11.5 over the Internationals. Kisner also made headlines<\/a> when he confronted International team vice captain Camilo Villegas over what Kisner deemed to be gamesmanship taken too far during Tom Kim and Sungjae Im’s match against Scottie Scheffler and Russell Henley.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In December, Kisner was named NBC’s new lead analyst<\/a> and will sit alongside Dan Hicks after a year-long audition process that included test stints from Brandel Chamblee and Luke Donald. Thanks to his vice-captaincy gig, though, Kisner’s analyst seat will need to be filled for the Ryder Cup. NBC has not yet announced a replacement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
